Jennifer Davis | Presiding Officer Kevin J. McCaffrey's Honoree
Jennifer Davis is currently Nurse Practitioner at Good Samaritan Hospital on the Neurosurgery Service. I have been working at Good Samaritan Hospital since 1999, where I started my career as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department. During my time in the ER, I went to graduate school at SUNY Stony Brook, earning my Masters of Science degree becoming a Nurse Practitioner in 2004 and was the first practitioner to be hired on the Neurosurgical Service, which has now grown to a service of over 10 Advance Practice Professionals. During my time at Good Sam, I have served on the Haz-Mat team, as well as serving on many hospital outreach programs including the Suffolk County Marathon Race Medical Team. I was humbled and honored to be chosen as Good Samaritan Hospital’s Nurse of Excellence for 2016.
I have been a volunteer member of the Bay Shore-Brightwaters Rescue Ambulance since 1991. I also currently volunteer as an RN at The Barton Center for Diabetes Education in North Oxford Massachusetts, which serves children with Type 1 diabetes in residential camping programs during the summer as well as during year long weekend programs since 2011.
I was raised in Babylon Village, where I have since returned to live in my childhood home with my Husband Timothy, my brother Sean, and our three cats who are our fur babies. I am an avid NY Islanders fan, as well as a huge Parrothead, a fan of Jimmy Buffett. You can catch me at 6 AM every year in the Jones Beach parking lot for our annual tailgate prior to the show. My husband and I also homebrew as a hobby.
