Falischa Moss | Legislator Samuel Gonzalez's Honoree

Falischa Moss was born and raised on Long Island by her grandparents and is a 1996 North Babylon High School graduate. Falischa attended Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, North Carolina. In her youth, Falischa was a student of the Venettes Cultural Workshop (VCW), a local performing arts school in Wyandanch, New York, founded by Mary A. Baird from age three through high school completion. While attending the Venettes, Falischa gained insight into career pathways through the staff, guest instructors and the importance of giving back through community service.

In 2010 Falischa returned to Long Island after 13 years. During those 13 years, Falischa traveled and lived across the country gaining experience and interest in community cultures. In 2011 Falischa began working for the Town of Babylon at the Wyandanch Community Resource Center, providing career training and connecting the community to resources to assist with housing and workforce sustainability. In 2014 she transitioned to the Suffolk County Department of Labor as a Neighborhood Aide to better serve the residents of Suffolk County at large and now serves as Program Coordinator of Community Based Initiatives and Intervention with the Suffolk County Department of Labor, Licensing and Consumer Affairs. As Program Coordinator, Falischa continues to work directly with the community developing programs and events that connect individuals, communities and businesses to economic success.

Falischa is the co-creator of Black Long Island (2016), a community initiative of Empact Inc. Black Long Island continues to connect the Black and Pan-African people across Long Island personally, politically, educationally, and economically! Falischa, has organized several events to actively engage and transform the community. These events have included panel discussions on Mental Health, School Curriculum Equity, and small business festivals across Long Island.

Falischa’s mission, to make a long-lasting impact on the community that will effect change and bring unity.

Falischa is married to William King Moss III, with four beautiful daughters, Nailah (25), Nikki (23), twin daughters, Melody (5), and Harmony (5), and a granddaughter, Jasmariah (3).
