Marianna Megas photoI was born and raised in Bay Shore, NY.  Graduated from Bay Shore High School and went to Queens College on a full volleyball scholarship.  Graduated with a B.A. in philosophy.  I spent 2 years in the corporate work force as an operations supervisor before joining the United States Marine Corps Reserves in 2010.  Upon completion of boot camp, I attended Marine Combat Training, and graduated as the honor graduate from MOS school, as an 0111 administrative specialist.  While in the Marines I also received Meritorious Mast and Certificates of Commendation, and was a non-commissioned officer.  I served at the 6th Communications Battalion from 2010 to 2016 in Brooklyn, NY.   While serving in the reserves I attended various field training exercises such as Javelin Thrust in 29 Palms, Corporals Course, and other annual training exercises across the country. Once my 6 year contract ended with the Marines, I crossed over to the Air National Guard.  I served at the 106th Rescue Wing from 2016 to 2019, as an Aircrew Flight Equipment Specialist.  I spent 3 months in Texas at the Sheppard Air Force base for technical school, where I graduated as a Distinguished graduate.  The rest of my career in the Air National Guard was spent at the 106th Rescue Wing in Westhampton Beach, NY as a guardsmen.

I currently work as a Police District Administrator for the MTA.  In my free time I enjoy spending time with my daughter, attending community events that support military veterans, such as the WWP Soldier Ride, hiking, sailing, and travelling.  I have traveled to 5 continents and my most recent excursion was to Nepal to complete a 3 week trek to Mount Everest Base Camp.
