Riverhead, NY – On Friday, March 22nd, Suffolk County Legislator Sarah Anker attended the Long Island Farm Bureau’s 100th Annual Awards Gala at the Polish Hall in Riverhead. This year, Long Island Farm Bureau honored Frank Beyrodt, Jr. of DeLea sod Farms with the “Amherst Davis Memorial Farmer Citizen of the Year” award and Peter Danowski, Jr., an attorney in Riverhead, with the “Long island Farm Bureau Citizen” award. The two were presented with proclamations from all 18 Suffolk County Legislators.
“I would like to congratulate Frank and Peter for their contributions to the farming community, as well as sincerely thank the Long Island Farm Bureau for all of the hard work it does to preserve agriculture on our island,” said Legislator Anker.
Frank Beyrodt is Executive Vice President and a member of the third generation of the DeLea Family sod Farms. He is also a past president and executive board member of the Long Island Farm Bureau.
Peter Danowski is an Attorney at Law in Riverhead. He represents farmers with purchase agreements for Sale of Development Rights and Transfer of Development Rights to Suffolk County, the Town of Riverhead, and the Town of Southold.
