HAUPPAUGE, NY – At the General Legislature Meeting on Tuesday, March 26th, Suffolk County Legislator Sarah Anker honored Bea Ruberto as one of the 2019 Suffolk County Women of Distinction. The Legislature hosted a Women of Distinction Luncheon to honor all 18 nominees from throughout Suffolk County. Bea is a resident of the 6th legislative district and was nominated to receive the award based on her efforts as the President of the Sound Beach Civic Association and as an active volunteer in her community. In addition, Bea is a member of the Brookhaven Anti-Litter Task Force, the Town of Brookhaven Senior Citizen Advisory Commission, the President of the Auxiliary of the Sound Beach Fire Department, and co-owner of Pern Editorial Services.
“It is my distinct honor to nominate Bea Ruberto for the 2019 Suffolk County Woman of Distinction award in recognition of her tireless volunteerism and her incredible commitment to her community,” said Legislator Anker. “Whether through the Sound Beach High School scholarship fund, the Pet Adopt-a-Thon, or the completion of the Sound Beach Veterans Memorial Park, Bea has inspired and educated countless other volunteers to lend a hand in improving their neighborhoods. Her ability to motivate and organize others has had a lasting impact on the Sound Beach area. It is because of Bea’s steadfast dedication to her community that I am pleased to recognize her as a Woman of Distinction. She is greatly deserving of this honor.”
