Legislator Steven Flotteron recognized Scouts from Pack 279 at their Arrow of Light Ceremony at Paul J. Bellew School in West Islip.
The Arrow of Light is the highest rank in Cub Scouting, and is the only badge of Cub Scouting rank that may be worn on the Boy Scout uniform. To earn the Arrow of Light badge, a Cub Scout must earn the Webelos badge plus five additional Activity Badges from selected groups.
“It is encouraging to see such commitment from these young boys,” said Legislator Flotteron. “Scouting is one of the finest organizations which builds character and loyalty in our young residents.”
