MIDDLE ISLAND, NY – On Monday, May 27th, Suffolk County Legislator Sarah Anker attended the Longwood Memorial Day services at Bartlett Pond Park in Middle Island. The service included music and prayer, a wreath laying ceremony, a peace pole unveiling, and a reading of the names of recently departed military, veterans, and volunteers.
“I commend the local community for its commitment to memorializing our fallen heroes. We owe so much to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country,” said Legislator Anker. “Thank you to the Middle Island Civic Association and the Longwood community leaders and groups who work hard to host these peaceful and commemorative events every year.”
