Legislator Kennedy held her fifth annual Suffolk County Women’s Power Breakfast hosted by the Holiday Inn Express in Stony Brook. The event featured several elected officials, community leaders and business leaders, the breakfast was an opportunity to network and discuss local issues that matter. It gave women in the community the opportunity to help make a difference by networking.
Eight women were honored at the Breakfast, each chosen by an honoree from the 2018 Power Breakfast. Each of these women played vital leadership roles in their workplaces and the community at-large. Though they may all represent different segments of the community, together they serve as a symbol of women’s empowerment and improve the community for all. Those nominated were Maria Themistocleous-Frey of Executive Consultants of New York, Carmela Constant of the Village of Lake Grove, Susan Hughes of BNB Bank, Norma Dispenza of Signature Premier Properties, Jane Smith of the Department of Social Services, Jaime Hechtman Ulloa of the Latino Outreach for the Republican Party, Krupa Lauricella of FTZ Strategies, Inc. and Tanya Lee of the Holiday Inn Express.
Legislator Kennedy spoke about each of the women and presented them with awards and proclamations. “These women have done exceptional work for our community,” Legislator Kennedy stated, “whether in governmental or commercial spaces, those honored today are leaders in their fields and it is my privilege to host them and all women in attendance. When women band together, amazing things happen.”
