Brentwood & Mattituck, NY – The Suffolk County Office for the Aging has scheduled two public hearings on its Annual Implementation Plan. A hearing will be held at the Town of Southold’s Human Resource Center, 750 Pacific Street, Mattituck on Thursday, October 24th, 2019 at 10 a.m. A hearing will also be held at the Town of Islip’s Caesar Trunzo Senior Center, 16 2nd Avenue,
Brentwood on Friday, October 25th, 2019 at 10 a.m.
The purpose of the hearings are to allow for public comment on the programs and services that the Suffolk County Office for the Aging plans to provide during the program year beginning April 1, 2020 and ending March 31, 2021. These hearings comply with the requirements of the Older American Act, the Community Services for the Elderly Program, and the Expanded In-Home Services for the Elderly Program.
“My legislative district encompasses one of the largest senior citizens’ populations in Suffolk County, said Legislator Anker. “As Chairwoman of the Seniors and Consumer Protection Legislative Committee, I will continue to work closely with the Office for the Aging to help facilitate programs and provide resources that best support our senior residents.”
Residents interested in providing testimony or otherwise commenting at the hearing can provide a copy of their comments for inclusion in the hearing’s records or verbal testimony may be presented in the form of a five-minute summary of the written statement. Those who cannot attend either hearing can submit comments to the Suffolk County Office for the Aging, PO Box 6100, Hauppauge, NY 11788.
