PATCHOGUE, NY – On Sunday, October 27th, Suffolk County Legislator Sarah Anker recognized runners at the 5th Annual Suffolk County Marathon held in Patchogue. Every year, the event raises funds to expand veterans services throughout the county. Along the 26.2 mile course, one-third of a mile was dedicated to honor the memory of Suffolk County military veterans who have been killed in action since September 11, 2001.
“It was an honor to join my colleagues and the community at the Suffolk County Marathon,” said Legislator Anker. “May we always come together to support those who have protected our country.”
This year’s marathon title sponsor was Catholic Health Services of Long Island. For more information on the Suffolk County Marathon, please visit www.suffolkmarathon.com.\
