Legislator Tom Donnelly a 33-year Decorated Member of the Deer Park Fire Department (DPFD) and a retired FDNY Lieutenant, recently joined fellow Volunteer Firefighter and Legislator Rudy Sunderman and Suffolk County Legislature Presiding Officer DuWayne Gregory in honoring Glen Dauman, owner of Long Island Egress Pros in West Babylon, a window fire safety company.
Dauman donated an Egress Safety Training System to the Suffolk County Fire Academy to help ensure Suffolk’s first responders train comprehensively and safely.
LI Egress Pros was founded in 2014 when Dauman, whose son was a junior firefighter at the time, saw a fire safety need for both homeowners and first responders dealing with lower living conditions. Today, each legal livable basement of a home is required to have an emergency exit window to be used as an egress opening. The opening must be large enough for a firefighter or person to climb through in an emergency.
“I was proud to recognize and thank Glen Dauman of Long Island Egress Pros for his generous donation of an Egress Safety Training System to our Yaphank Fire Academy,” said Legislator Tom Donnelly. “It is critical that firefighters respond rapidly, efficiently and optimally in any and all emergency situations and the opportunity to train with this technology will enable them to continue to provide top-notch fire safety and protection for our residents.”
