MIDDLE ISLAND, NY – On Saturday, December 7, Suffolk County Legislator Sarah Anker attended the 7th Annual Longwood Veterans Patriotic Holiday Tree Lighting at Bartlett Pond Park in Middle Island. The program included a special recognition of the 78th anniversary of Pearl Harbor Day, the veterans of the Longwood community, and those serving on active duty.
“I commend the Longwood community for recognizing our military men and women and those who were lost 78 years ago at Pearl Harbor,” said Legislator Anker. “The holiday season reminds us to think of those who are unable to join us in celebration, because they are protecting one of our greatest gifts: freedom and security of our country.”
