Kennedy Delivers for Seniors in Need

May 14, 2020 – In the midst of the Covid-19 Pandemic Legislator Leslie Kennedy has launched her good neighbor initiative focused on distributing much needed Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to over 400 senior households in the 12th Legislative District.  The donation of these washable cloth masks were part of the procured PPE secured by Congressman Lee Zeldin from President Donald Trump. This essential piece of equipment is now being supplied directly to the most vulnerable population in Suffolk County.

“It is my great pleasure to be able to be part of this lifesaving initiative, making sure those in need of such masks had been delivered directly” said Legislator Kennedy from her district office where she has worked every day since the outbreak, working hard to keep her constituents safe. Partnering in concert with Legislator Kennedy, Congressman Zeldin has been working hard for his district and Suffolk County bringing in much needed resources from our nation’s capital “Our communities’ older Long Islanders are especially vulnerable during the ongoing outbreak of coronavirus, and helping ensure they stay safe and healthy will not only save lives, but minimize pressure on our communities’ healthcare system,” said Congressman Zeldin in between many of his strategic meetings with federal, state and local officials as he continues to bridge federal resources to the frontlines of the pandemic . “Every level of government continues to work together in a non-partisan way to deliver the PPE’s Long Island needs to combat the spread of coronavirus using every means possible, and I thank Legislator Kennedy for helping to lead the charge.".

Anyone who is over 60 years of age and is still in need of a mask can reach out to Legislator Kennedy’s office at 631-854-3735, at this time constituents are not allowed to be in the office but arrangements will be made to get the materials to you.

Legislator Kennedy wishes her constituents to stay well and to please follow social distancing guidelines to keep themselves and others healthy during this time.
