Lindenhurst, NY, June 23rd, 2020: On June 23rd, Legislator McCaffrey’s office received a new collection box from Cell Phones for Soldiers, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to providing cost-free communication services and emergency funding to active-duty military members and veterans.
The Legislature has used it’s District Offices to promote charitable collections for some time, quite often in the form of collection boxes, usually distributed at General Meetings. on Monday, June 22nd, Legislator McCaffrey’s Wellwood Avenue Office received a new collection box from Cell Phones for Soldiers, which will replace our old and worn out collection box. The original box served us well for several years, and we will be sending out the last phones it collected to Cell Phones for Soldiers shortly. If you have any old phones you wish to donate come drop them off at our office!
We also have collection boxes for Caitlyn’s Vision, which collects glasses and eyeglass cases that are refurbished and given to people in need- particularly children. We also have a similar box from Lions Clubs International.
Legislator McCaffrey represents Suffolk County’s 14th Legislative District which encompasses the Village of Lindenhurst, Babylon Village, the hamlets of West Babylon and North Lindenhurst, portions of Copiague, North Babylon and Babylon’s barrier beach communities.
