“Government Officials Collaborate to Distribute Facemasks and Hand Sanitizer to Small Businesses in Holbrook”
Last week, Suffolk County Legislator Anthony Piccirillo and New York State Assemblyman Doug Smith continued their ongoing collaboration during the COVID-19 pandemic by distributing dozens of gallons of New York State Clean hand sanitizer and hundreds of protective facemasks generously donated by Goodson Manufacturing in Bohemia. During this latest community distribution event, the lawmakers and their staff provided critical resources to more than 20 local businesses in Holbrook.
“I was very happy to collaborate with Assemblyman Smith to provide these small businesses with much needed facemasks and hand sanitizer, it was a great team effort,” said Legislator Piccirillo. “These small businesses are the backbone of our community and I am grateful that we are able to assist them with the tools they need during this difficult time. These businesses and their employees have enough to worry about right now, this will hopefully take one less burden off their backs.”
“During these unprecedented times, I am happy to have a strong partner in Legislator Piccirillo,” said Assemblyman Smith. “At the outset of this pandemic, he and I have collaborated with local business leaders as part of an Emergency Small Business Task Force to help prevent economic devastation in our community. Half of New Yorkers are employed by small business and we will continue working to make sure our Main Street businesses have the resources they need to thrive and survive.”
During the distribution event, Assemblyman Smith and Legislator Piccirillo visited over 20 local businesses including Joy Cleaners, Handy Pantry, Starlite Auto, Tag Beverage, Davinci’s Pizza, Hair Force One, MoMo’s Bar & Grill, among many others.
Both officials grew up in the community and are Sachem graduates. They look forward to a continued partnership for the benefit of the people within their shared communities.
