On Friday, March 26, 12th Legislative District Legislator Leslie Kennedy joined with other State and local officials to recognize the grand re- opening of Urban Air, an indoor adventure park located in the Village of Lake Grove. This unique destination has been designed to provide almost 50,000 square feet of safe, monitored hands on recreation for children age 5-14. Mindful of the heightened sanitary requirements associated with the pandemic, the park is operating at 25 % capacity, with an e-commerce ticketing system managing 2 hour timed entry for all guests. All tickets are purchased online, and in advance.
Additional safety measures include only limited in person ticket sales, tied to capacity, temperature monitoring of all facility staff, color coordinated wrist bands, and signifying two hour blocks in which guests will participate in the various attractions. No measure has been spared to insure a safe recreational experience.
When it comes to recreation, the attractions are many and the sky’s the limit, literally! Not only is the an aerial zip line with appropriate safety harnesses, but trampolines, bumper cars, The Runway Tumble Track, the Slam Dunk zone, and the Tubes playground, with several suspended levels of pipes and tubes for young visitors to crawl through and slide down. All officials acknowledged the hard work, and the outstanding commitment that co-owners Dave Wolmetz and Keith Handler have demonstrated throughout the prolonged pandemic closure. Legislator Kennedy commended them on their vison, resourcefulness, and commitment to offering a venue designed for family fun. She wished them much success as our Suffolk County economy slowly opens up, and we all look forward to a fully open society soon!
