Babylon, NY: On Saturday, February 27th, 2021, Suffolk County Legislator Kevin McCaffrey hosted an Island Harvest Food Drive at the Babylon Railroad Station along with New York State Assemblyman Michael Durso.
The kindness of the residents of Babylon Village and its surrounding communities proved to be a bright spot in what was otherwise a dark and rainy Saturday afternoon, as dozens of cars lined up to donate nonperishable food items for their neighbors in need. The logistical side of the food drive was made possible by volunteers from Island Harvest, the offices of Legislator McCaffery and Assemblyman Durso, Babylon Village Mayor Mary Adams and Trustees Anthony Cardali, Dominic Bencivenga, and Frank Seibert, Town of Babylon Supervisor Rich Schaffer, and most importantly the Suffolk County Police Department's First Precinct Explorers. Their hard work certainly paid off, as donations filled several pallets and the entire Island Harvest Truck on site.
