Dix Hills, NY: On Saturday, April 24th, 2021, Legislator McCaffrey joined other local officials at the Suffolk County Regional EMS Council 2020 CPR Save Awards Ceremony.
The awards ceremony honored nearly two dozen crews of Suffolk County emergency medical technicians, firefighters, and police officers who, by performing quality CPR, successfully revived their patients throughout the year 2020. One of these crews was from the North Lindenhurst Fire Department, which was activated for an adult male in cardiac arrest on February 9th, 2020. The responding crew consisted of Paramedic Shawn Edouard, EMT Paula Laziuk, EMT Michael Horan, Chiefs Chris Connell and Kenny Stallone, and Suffolk County Police Officers Aleksa Mikalaus-Klimas and Matthew Friedrich.
At the ceremony, numerous fire service officials, local and federal government officials, and survivors were present to give these heroes proper recognition. Legislator McCaffrey represents Suffolk County’s 14th Legislative District which encompasses the Village of Lindenhurst, Babylon Village, the hamlets of West Babylon and North Lindenhurst, portions of Copiague, North Babylon and Babylon’s barrier beach communities.
