In an effort to keep tails wagging, Suffolk County Legislator Kara Hahn lent her paws to the annual Long Island Cares pet food drive.  Donations fetched were provided to the Hauppauge based not-for-profit’s “Baxter’s Pet Pantry” that focuses on the needs of our furry friends.

Long Island Cares launched “Baxter’s Pet Pantry” in 2009 to assist local pet-owning families in need.  The program provides free pet food and other supplies to financially stressed pet owners with a goal of reducing the likelihood pets will be placed in shelters or abandoned because of difficulty in meeting their needs.
