Legislator Steven J. Flotteron recognized Matthew Barra of Boy Scout Troop 205 at his Eagle Court of Honor. His Service Project was planning and purchasing the supplies for the refurbishment of the Great River Fire Department backyard garage and the building of picnic tables for this same location.
Matthew is a senior at East Islip High School where he has achieved Honor Roll and High Honor status. He has been a Teaching Assistant for the automotive class and on the Stage Crew and Concert Crew as well as a member of the Varsity Wrestling Team for four years.
Upon graduation, he will be continuing his service as a member of the Air National Guard while pursuing higher education. His future plans include a career in the military.
