Last week, Suffolk County Legislator Nick Caracappa partnered with New York State Senator Mario Mattera and New York State Assemblymember Doug Smith to host a Job Fair at Suffolk County Community College’s Ammerman Campus in Selden.
Over 40 vendors were in attendance, offering employment in the healthcare, pet care, education, senior care, trade unions, and hospitality industries, to name a few. Hundreds of job seekers stopped by to speak to the vendors and present their resumes as potential candidates.
“I was thrilled to see what an overwhelming success this Job Fair was, and to walk around the room and meet some great members of the community,” stated Caracappa. “I know many hard-working people have been displaced since the pandemic, and many companies need to fill job openings. Senator Mattera, Assemblyman Smith, and I felt it was important to bring the two groups together to put people back to work. I’d like to thank my partners in government, the vendors, job seekers, as well as SCCC President Edward Bonahue and staff for helping to make this event the great success that it was.”
