Earlier this winter, Legislator Fleming helped the Butterfly Effect Project in their collection of non-perishable food items as well as donations for meals to assist families in need. The Butterfly Effect Project located in Flanders has done critical work in the educational and professional development of young girls, demonstrating that they can be anything they want to be.
Additionally, many families facing financial insecurity due to the continuation of the pandemic, Legislator Fleming’s office collected diapers for families in need. Currently women’s menstrual products and diapers are not included in assistance programs like SNAP. Therefore, to shed light on this issue, Fleming helped collect diapers for the Allied Foundation in order for them to continue their work in raising awareness and helping Long Island families.
