Legislator Thorne Sworn in Gets Right to Work

Patchogue, NY – Legislator Dominick Thorne (R-Patchogue) was officially sworn in as Legislator of the 7th District on January 3rd, 2022 at the annual organizational meeting of the Suffolk County Legislature. Thorne will serve as the Vice Chair of the Fire, Rescue and Emergency Medical Services & Preparedness Committee, along with membership on the following committees:

  • Public Works, Transportation & Energy;
  • Budget & Finance;
  • Seniors & Human Services; and
  • Health

Dominick has been a member in the Suffolk County Fire and Rescue world since the early 1980s. He spent 25 years as a volunteer in Firefighter and Emergency Medical Critical Care units and spent ten years as a Captain of the North Patchogue Fire Department and Ambulance District.

“I am excited to get right to work on improving the lives of Suffolk County residents. As Vice Chair of the Fire, Rescue and Emergency Medical Services & Preparedness committee, we will make sure that our first responders have the resources and tools they need to ensure that our communities are kept safe.” said Legislator Thorne.
