During the blizzard we had earlier this winter, the 8th Legislative District Office received a phone call about an elderly homeowner who needed help digging out after the storm.
"I put a phone call in to BSA Holtsville Troop 100 and within hours of making that phone call the woman who resides in Holbrook had her driveway cleared" said Anthony Piccirillo
Scouts Alec Torquato, Dominic Arculeo, Michael Mauro, Brandon Buro, Casey Lynch, and Richard Minozzi came to the rescue along with Troop 100 Committee member John launch , who brought 2 snowblowers and salt.
"When I talk about being lucky to represent some of the most caring and compassionate people in New York, this is what I mean" stated the Legislator. "These young men stepped up to help a woman they did not even know during a time of need. They are are shining example of what is good in our community; and I commend them for helping others who are in need" Piccirillo Added
"I was happy to invite these young men to my office this afternoon and thank them for their actions" said Legislator Piccirillo. The Legislator awarded them each with a citation on behalf of the 8th Legislative District. " What an amazing group of young men and I look forward to working with them in the future" Legislator Piccirillo concluded.
