Legislator Thorne Honors First Black Female Fire Chief

GORDON HEIGHTS, NY – Wednesday, March 2nd, Legislator Dominick Thorne (R-Patchogue) honors the Gordon Heights Fire Department and their first black female Fire Chief Moonee Rivers.  Thorne, a former firefighter and critical care EMT, serves as Vice Chair of the Fire Rescue Committee.  He acknowledged her hard work and sacrifice.

“She will continue her family’s proud tradition of serving the Gordon Heights Fire Department.  The community of Gordon Heights is in good hands.” said Thorne.
