On Saturday, September 30, Legislator McCaffrey celebrated the 95th birthday of Vincent Weckerle at a surprise party. Vincent Weckerle has served 60 years as a member of the Lindenhurst Fire Department, helped establish the Department’s first Rescue Squad and served as a Captain of the Chemical and Rescue Company.
“It is great to celebrate a man who has committed so much of his life to his family and the Village of Lindenhurst and its residents,” said Legislator McCaffrey. “Vincent has accomplished a tremendous amount and is a role model for everyone here in the Village.”
Weckerle is also a veteran of the United States Navy and served in World War II.
