Steve Kai and Fr Victor

Legislator Steven J. Flotteron recognized Bay Shore Middle School student, Kai Moran, at the General Meeting of the Legislature this month, for her selfless act of kindness to aid the relief efforts in Ukraine. With the support of her parents, Tina and Greg, ten-year-old Kai raised more than $4,000 which went to organizations such as World Central Kitchen, International Committee of the Red Cross-Ukraine Crisis and to a local Ukrainian family that purchased and sent much needed medical supplies and heavy duty clothing to people on the front line in their home town. The Legislator had Reverend Victor Wronskyj offer the opening prayer. He is Vice President of the Consistory of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the USA, and current rector of Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral in Brooklyn. He is also acting administrator for Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church in West Islip.
