Legislator Bergin Honors Troop 205's 107th Eagle Scout

On Tuesday, March 14, 2023, Legislator Bergin attended Troop 205’s Eagle Scout ceremony, honoring their 107th Eagle Scout, Joseph Carmine Rezza III.

To become an Eagle Scout, a Scout must earn 21 merit badges, of which 14 are specifically Eagle required, progress through six rank advancements- from Tenderfoot, Second Class, First Class, Star, Life, then Eagle. They must also plan, develop and implement a major service project for the community.

Joseph currently has earned a total of 23 Merit Badges. The Service Project that Joseph developed, planned and implemented with assistance of his fellow Troop members, friends and family members, was designing and building six “Busy Boards” for the participants of the League of Yes. Busy Boards are sensory boards that are a fun way for special needs people to feel many new textures and objects- all at once. The mission of League of Yes is to establish and sustain baseball programs for people of all ages, with disabilities.

Joseph’s project demonstrated care and passion, as well as commitment to his Troop and community.
