Longtime Amityville Village Resident Honored as 15th LD Irish American of Distinction

Wyandanch, NY – Suffolk County Legislature Minority Leader Jason Richberg recognized longtime Amityville Village resident Wendy O’Neill as the Suffolk County15th Legislative District’s 2023 “Irish American of Distinction” at the county’s Irish American Heritage Month celebration on Friday, March 24.
 
March is Irish American Heritage Month in Suffolk County, and in an effort to honor and highlight the contributions and leadership of Irish Americans throughout Suffolk County, each County Legislator was invited to select an Irish American person of distinction who resides in his or her respective legislative district. The 18 honorees were recognized at the county’s first annual Irish American Heritage Month celebration at the H. Lee Dennison Building in Hauppauge. 
 
"I was thrilled to be able to recognize longtime Amityville Village resident Wendy O'Neill as the 15th legislative district's 2023 Irish American of Distinction,” said Suffolk County Legislature Minority Leader Jason Richberg. "Wendy is incredibly committed to serving the Amityville community and bettering the lives of her neighbors. She is a member of her local Civic Association, volunteers her time to help organize community events, and currently serves as Assistant to Amityville Village Mayor Dennis Siry. I can't think of anyone more deserving than Wendy O'Neill to receive this honor. Congratulations Wendy and thank you for all that you do!"
