Legislator Steven J. Flotteron recognized Robert Moses Kuri, for his 43 years with the Town of Islip Community Development Agency (CDA), which had been established several years prior to his joining. The CDA has introduced many community-oriented programs designed to provide a better quality of life for those who live, work, invest and play in the Township of Islip. Over the years, Mr. Kuri was committed to actively participate in producing and promoting; implement and nurture community revitalization efforts, as well as work on the development of affordable and sustainable housing, technological advances and innovation in home construction, including public service and capital improvement projects. As the Affordable Housing Director, he has successfully acquired, sold and financed more than 1,000 properties and arranged more than 20 housing lotteries for the development of affordable housing for first-time homebuyers. He also had the distinction of serving in various capacities toward the creation of affordable housing communities and made way for a commercial development project to stimulate the economic growth and home buying opportunities in Bay Shore, Brentwood and Central Islip, earning him professional certificates of accomplishments, public service recognition awards, SC proclamations and TOI citations.
