In 2021, Legislator Gonzalez proposed a resolution to declare May 21st as Senator Caesar Trunzo Day, which was successfully passed, establishing this day of remembrance. Born in 1926 in Brooklyn, New York, Senator Trunzo led a remarkable life. He served as a dedicated husband, father, and selflessly served in the United States Army from 1944 to 1946. In 1973, Trunzo was elected to the New York State Senate, where he tirelessly represented and advocated for the people of New York until his retirement in 2008. Legislator Samuel Gonzalez aims to ensure that Senator Caesar Trunzo's legacy is honored, and that this day serves as a meaningful moment of remembrance for his loved ones and family.
