Suffolk County Legislator Sam Gonzalez proudly attended and co-sponsored the highly anticipated Island to Island 1st Annual Softball Charity Tournament, hosted by Jibaritos with Troops, on Friday, June 9th, 2023. The event, held at Roberto Clemente Park, brought together law enforcement agencies, community organizations, and individuals from various backgrounds to emphasize a commitment to building positive relationships between law enforcement agencies and the community.
The tournament was marked by the presence of esteemed guests, including Police Commissioner Rodney Harrison, the Aguadilla Police Department from Puerto Rico, Suffolk County Police Department, Nassau County Police Department, MTAPD Hispanic Society, and NYPD Hispanic Society. The participants took to the softball field, engaging in spirited competition while embodying the values of teamwork, sportsmanship, and mutual respect.
Not only did the Island to Island Softball Charity Tournament bring joy and excitement to the participants and spectators, but it also had a meaningful impact on the community.
