I was honored to attend and speak Suffolk Independent Living Organization (SILO)’s event to celebrate the thirty-third anniversary of the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act. I was happy to join Legislator Nick Caracappa, Suffolk County Legislator Steve Flotteron - 11th LD, and Assemblyman Joe DeStefano and represent Senator Dean Murray for this celebration.
The ADA was officially signed on July 26th, 1990, in order to protect the rights and prohibit the discrimination of people with disabilities. It is vital that we continue to work towards the goal of ending all discrimination.
