Legislator Steven J. Flotteron recognized Honorary Captain John Ippolito, Hook and Ladder Company of the Bay Shore Fire Department, for achieving 50 years of service to the department. He joined the department at 19-years-old, served as Company Secretary, a member of the By-law and Investigation committees as well serving as Captain of the Redskins, 1st Lieutenant and 2nd Lieutenant. He was the Juniors Coach and Director. In addition he served on the Building Committee of Redskin Barn (station 2), named Honorary Captain of Hook and Ladder, served as Lottery Chairman, Department Journal Chairman 125th, and Cook for Redskins and Juniors from 2001 to Present.
