Huntington: On September 7, Legislator Stephanie Bontempi (R-18th L.D.) welcomed Cooper Keil to the district office to present him with the Suffolk County Legislature’s Distinguished Youth Award (silver). This award was developed not only to recognize young individuals (13-18 years of age) for their commitment to the community, but to also encourage their personal development and a familiarity with the County’s extensive park system.
“The multi-faceted aspect of the Distinguished Youth Award incentivizes volunteer service and an appreciation for learning about one’s community and its surrounding environment,” said Bontempi. “Cooper fully embraced the core spirit of the award program. He is a great role model for his peers, and I look forward to hearing about his future successes in the years to come.”
Cooper is currently a student at St. Anthony’s High School and is looking forward to the beginning of his junior year.
