Legislator Steven Flotteron Recognizes Islip Arts Council Honorees

IAC Annual Directors Reception

Legislator Steven Flotteron recognized four honorees of The Islip Arts Council (IAC) at their Annual Directors Reception held at Trio at the Holbrook Country Club. This year’s honorees were Good Samaritan University Hospital, part of the Catholic Health system, Director of Heckscher State Park David Auguste; Christina W. Macina, IAC; Founder and President of Reynard Burns Publishing Inc. Reynard Burns for their commitment to Healthcare, the Arts, Business and the community. 

 

 

Good Samaritan University Hospital has been serving the south shore of Long Island for more than 60 years with a longstanding reputation for excellence in the community, leading edge technology, expanding services, and increasing focus on academic excellence and clinical research. 

 

David Auguste brings more than 29 years of experience in Parks and Recreation with a Master’s in Public Administration from Binghamton University, he has effectively managed decreasing budgets while taking on new amenities such as disc golf and rental cottages for the County. He has streamlined park functions, cross trained staff to perform various duties and regularly works with volunteer groups who help maintain the park. 

 

Christina W. Macina joined the IAC in 2019 bringing nearly 20 years of experience in not-for-profit companies and institutions. For the past five years, she has worked directly with the Executive Director of the IAC to strengthen internal controls and obtain grants for the many programs offered.

 

In addition to being Founder and President of Reynard Burns Publishing Inc., Reynard Burns has more than 40 years of experience in directing orchestras and teaching at the public high school and college levels, he has engaged in many projects and programs reaching large audiences. His compositions have been performed for several IAC programs and concerts including Concert in the Parks and the Emersion Project “Flight” featuring the story of the Tuskegee Airmen and he has performed across the United States and abroad.
