Legislator Steven J. Flotteron recently recognized Robert Joseph Hilbert of East Islip on completing his Eagle Board of Review and becoming the 108th to achieve Eagle Scout in the history of Troop 205. Robert’s Service Project, earning him Eagle Scout status, was designing and renovating the garden on the corner of Manistee Lane and Overlook Drive in Country Village in East Islip. He is a graduate of East Islip High School where he exceled academically and musically earning recognition from the NYS Attorney General’s Triple “C” Award and from NYSSMA for Piano and French Horn. In addition, he has logged more than 60 hours of community service including volunteering at the St. Mark’s Episcopal Church Thrift Store and with the Keep Islip Clean organization. He is currently a freshman at Rochester Institute of Technology where he is majoring in Computer Science.
