Legislator Steven
Flotteron (R-11th Legislative District) congratulated new Eagle
Scout David Plocharczyk from Boy Scouts of America Troop 371, Brentwood, NY.
Plocharczyk’s Eagle Scout project was the re-establishment of a garden in front
of the main entrance to the Brentwood North Middle School. He did extensive
clearing of overgrown weeds and refurbishing of flower beds and garden design.
The center piece of his project was the construction of a wall in front of the
garden to keep litter out and provide a sitting space for students waiting for
their bus.
“Reaching the rank of
Eagle Scout is not only an honor but a responsibility to live by example for
other scouts working toward their goal. You should live honorably, not only
because honor is important to you, but because of the vital significance of the
example you set for others. Living honorably reflects credit on your family,
your Troop and your community,” said Legislator Flotteron.
