NY... January 10, 2018) – Suffolk Legislator Tom Donnelly (D-Huntington
Station), elected by the residents of the 17th Legislative District in November 2017, was sworn into his first term in the County Legislature at the 2018 Legislative Organizational Meeting, held January 2nd at the William J. Lindsay County Complex in Hauppauge. After taking the oath of office, County Clerk Judith Pascal witnessed his signing of the official record.
Legislator Donnelly,
a graduate of Deer Park High School, was born, raised and still proudly resides
in Deer Park. He represents residents
from the Towns of Huntington and Babylon, including parts of Cold Spring Hills,
Deer Park, Dix Hills, Huntington, Huntington Station, Melville, North Babylon,
South Huntington, West Babylon and West Hills. Legislator Donnelly served as a
Town of Babylon Councilman from 2011 through 2017 and recently retired as a
30-year member of the Fire Department of New York City (FDNY). He is also a three-decade Deer Park Fire
Department volunteer.
Legislative
Presiding Officer DuWayne Gregory (D-Amityville) named Legislator Donnelly
chairman of the Education & Human Services Committee and a member of four
other committees: Public Safety; Public Works, Transportation & Energy;
Seniors & Consumer Protection; and Veterans.

and honored that the people of the 17th Legislative District elected me to the Suffolk County Legislature,” said Legislator Donnelly. “I am dedicated to the community and look
forward to serving, supporting and hearing from local residents.”
Legislator
Donnelly was preceded in office by Legislator Lou D’Amaro, who served the
district for 12 years and retired due to term limits.
