Legislator Tom Donnelly, himself a 33-year decorated member of the Deer Park Fire Department (DPFD), joined his volunteers in welcoming incoming Chief Phil Scarfi and providing a Proclamation for outgoing Chief Anthony Biolsi at the Department’s Annual Installation Dinner in June at the Piermont in Babylon.
Chief Scarfi is a 40-Year decorated member of the DPFD and, like Legislator Donnelly, a retired FDNY firefighter. He and his wife, Cathy, have been involved in many community service activities in Deer Park for decades.
Outgoing Chief Biolsi entered the DPFD as a junior firefighter in 1975. He has held all ranks of office within the department, receiving numerous citations including being Cited for Excellence in rendering care to auto accident victims.
“On behalf of the Deer Park community in which I am proud to reside and serve, as well as the entire Suffolk County Legislature, it is my privilege to honor our community’s bravest, finest and most dedicated individuals who risk their lives every day to protect ours,” Legislator Donnelly said. “I welcome Chief Scarfi and thank Ex-Chief Biolsi for his leadership and service.”
