SOUND BEACH, NY – On Saturday, April 21st, Suffolk County Legislator Sarah Anker joined TOB Councilwoman Jane Bonner and the Sound Beach Fire Department to celebrate its Annual Inspection and Installation Dinner at East Wind Long Island in Wading River. The celebration included honoring local firefighters for their years of service, inducting the new department officers, and presentations by government officials and community leaders. George Goodleaf was honored as the department’s “Fireman of the Year,” and Bob Pulick was recognized for his 50 years of service to the fire department.
“I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the members of the Sound Beach Fire Department for protecting our community for 88 years,” said Legislator Anker. “It is an honor and a privilege to recognize the brave men and women for the services they provide, which are vital to the safety of our community.”
Legislator Anker presented certificates to firefighters who were recognized for their dedicated years of service: Bob Pulick was recognized for 50 years of service; Bill Pellenz and Ken Tobiassen for 45 years; James Harris for 35 years; John Romonoski for 30 years; Marc Francois and Keith Williams for 25 years; and Tom Passariello for 5 years.
In addition, several firefighters were honored with special recognition awards, including Alex Riley for “EMT of the Year,” and Patricia Fiorelli, Erica Elisseou, and Margaret DeTurris for “Truck of the Year.” For more information about the Sound Beach Fire Department, please visit www.soundbeachfd.org.
