MOUNT SINAI, N.Y. – On Sunday, June 10, Suffolk County Legislator Sarah Anker joined elected officials and yacht club members at the 15th annual Mount Sinai Yacht Club Blessing of the Fleet at Cedar Beach in Mount Sinai. During the parade of the fleet, the blessings were given by Father Francis Lasrado of Infant Jesus Church in Port Jefferson and Retired Reverend Jermone Nedelka. In addition, the Coast Guard Auxillary was present to administer courtesty boat inspections.
“Mount Sinai Yacht Club provides important oversight for Mount Sinai Harbor and have been good stewards for our environment,” said Legislator Anker. “I wish everyone a safe and fun boating season.”
The Mount Sinai Yacht Club was founded in 1964. The founders envisioned a place where working people would share a common love of recreational boating in a family-oriented palace that fostered an atmosphere of hospitality and a safe haven for boaters of the Long Island Sound.
