Ridge, N.Y. – On Friday, June 15th, Suffolk County Legislator Sarah Anker attended the Town of Brookhaven Annual Senior Citizen Picnic at Longwood Estate in Ridge. Every summer, the Town of Brookhaven Senior Citizens Division hosts this event to provide an opportunity for the local senior community to meet their elected officials. Each year approximately 1,000 senior citizens attend this event, including those from more than twenty community senior groups.
“My legislative district encompasses one of the largest senior citizens populations in Suffolk County,” said Legislator Anker, Chairwoman of the Seniors and Consumer Protection Committee. “I will continue to work hard and advocate for services that benefit and improve the quality of life for our senior communities.”
