Lindenhurst, NY, September 10, 2018: On Saturday, September 8, Suffolk County Legislator Kevin McCaffrey spoke to a crowd of hundreds at the annual Lindenhurst Football and Cheerleading League Pep Rally.
Legislator McCaffrey congratulated the board, the players and cheerleaders and their families for making the league possible. He also spoke about the values of the League and the important role team sports plays in the community.
“It was great to see so many friends and family members supporting the young athletes and the league,” said Legislator McCaffrey. “This kind of organization ensures that children learn important skills and values, such as teamwork, dedication and hard work. I love seeing our young people spending time outdoors instead of inside in front of a screen.”
The Lindenhurst Football and Cheerleading League is dedicated to educating athletes and coaches to become lifelong leaders who exhibit good sportsmanship on and off the field. The league provides a safe and orderly learning environment where athletes receive and league personnel deliver quality athletic services and activities.
Legislator McCaffrey represents Suffolk County’s 14th Legislative District which encompasses the Village of Lindenhurst, Babylon Village, the hamlets of West Babylon and North Lindenhurst, portions of Copiague, North Babylon and Babylon’s barrier beach communities.
