A Combined Service of 100 Years…..and Still Counting

Hauppauge, NY – In honor of Volunteer Recognition Month, Legislator Spencer and his colleagues honored volunteers throughout Suffolk County for their selfless service at Tuesday evening’s General Meeting. For the 18th Legislative District, Roger Ketcham and Frank Grasso; both 50 year volunteers at the Halesite Fire Department and members of the Hose Rescue Company, were recognized. Roger has also been an EMT for over 40 years and responds to more than 200 ambulance calls annually. Frank Grasso, an Ex-Chief of the Department, is one of the few primary drivers capable of driving all fire department vehicles. “Roger and Frank are both truly worthy of this recognition for their combined service of 100 years and still counting. I’m truly thankful for all they have done to keep our community safe,” stated Legislator William R. Spencer.
