SOUND BEACH, NY – On Veterans Day, we honor the men and women who have fought for our freedom and the active duty military personnel who continue to fight for us at home and overseas. On Monday, November 12th, Suffolk County Legislator Sarah Anker joined the Sound Beach Civic Association, the Sound Beach Fire Department, and the Sound Beach/Rocky Point community at the Sound Beach Veterans Memorial for a Veterans Day commemoration ceremony. The event included a flag ceremony presented by local scout troops, wreath-laying, and music provided by the Rocky Point High School music department.
“I am proud to be a part of a community that goes above and beyond to honor our veterans,” said Legislator Anker. “I commend the bravery of our veterans and I am humbled to pay tribute to those who continue to serve and protect our country.”
