November 19, 2018 – On Monday afternoon Legislator
Leslie Kennedy (R-Nesconset) visited with Building Blocks Elementary School and
she brought two special guests. Every year it is tradition for the folks at
Building Blocks Elementary School to host a Thanksgiving show. Thanks to
Legislator Leslie Kennedy and Cornell Cooperative, Tom and Mary, two turkeys
made their appearance at the yearly production.
Unlike most turkeys, Mary and Tom
are not bulking up in order to be offered as Thanksgiving dinner. Tom and Mary
have a lot to be thankful for, since they live on the farm, they are safe for
this season. The children performed a production complete with a Mayflower,
Pilgrims, and Native Americans with Tom and Mary making their debut as the
grand finale.
“I want to
thank Building Blocks Elementary School for inviting me to this wonderful
production. The student’s performance was magnificent, singing songs with
Thanksgiving themes, and displaying costumes of early settlers and Native
Americans. Thanks also go out to Tom and Mary!” said Legislator Leslie Kennedy.
