Suffolk Legislator Tom Donnelly recently joined SeniorNet at Family Service League (FSL) for its annual meeting and presented the organization with a proclamation in honor of its 20th Anniversary. The not-for-profit has been successfully teaching Suffolk County seniors how to learn and master computer skills since establishing its first learning center at the Huntington FSL in 1999.
SeniorNet has expanded its reach and scope of services in many innovative ways over the past two decades. For its 10th anniversary, Suffolk County SeniorNet opened a second center in East Yaphank, has developed a Mobile Learning Center to provide classes at off-site locations and now also provides computer skills instruction to home-bound seniors. In recognition of these and other achievements, SeniorNet at FSL has received numerous national honors over the past several years including the Exemplary Learning Center and Best Practices & Ideas Awards.
“SeniorNet at Family Service League has become one of the leading learning centers in the country,” said Legislator Donnelly. “The phenomenal volunteers impressively work together to provide invaluable services to seniors throughout Suffolk County. I congratulate SeniorNet on the occasion of its 20th Anniversary and thank everyone involved for all they do to meet the needs of our community.”
