February 22, 2019 – On Thursday, Legislator Leslie Kennedy had the opportunity to celebrate the birthday of Connie Lopipero who was born in 1917. Connie is now a resident of the Amber Court Assisted Living Facility in Nesconset but she was born in Manhattan and spent most of her life living in Queens.
Connie was one of the first residents at Amber Court, but before she moved out to Nesconset for some rest and relaxation she had a robust career. She worked as a seamstress for one of the major garment manufacturers in the world at the time. Later on in her career she worked as an Avon sales representative, after which she and her husband owned an oil delivery company, and finally Connie was employed by Bankers Trust located on Wall Street.
Connie loves her family. She had three children with her husband Vincent, and now has eight grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. At 102 years old her family is more important to her than ever and she enjoys when they come to visit.
“I was honored to celebrate this milestone in Connie’s life,” said Legislator Kennedy “Connie is an amazing woman and I am glad that I had the opportunity to spend time with her. May we all be as bright and active as Connie when we are 102!”
